George Michael is a man who needs little introduction. Born 25th June 1963, George Michael is simply one of the world’s most famous living pop icons.
Producing music for over 30 years, he started ‘80s pop outfit, Wham! with school-friend Andrew Ridgeley. With Wham! George had successive top 10 hits with well-loved classics "Club Tropicana", "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go", "Freedom", "Everything She Wants" and "Careless Whisper".
Going solo in 1987, George Michael released his first solo effort, Faith; that covered 137 dates in 19 countries from February 1988 to June 1989.
The album itself went multi-Platinum across British, American, Canadian and Dutch charts. George Michael proved to have the formulae for pop magic, and his controversial songs made him even more popular amongst his fans.
Throughout the ‘90s, he continued to rule the charts with hit albums Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1(1990), Older (1996) and Songs from the Last Century (1999).
He released his greatest hits album in 1998 and had his next big seller with Patience (2004) which contained the song “Amazing”.
In 2006, he embarked on his 80 date tour for 25 Live where George Michael tickets sold out almost instantly.
