Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. is the given name for Essex singer-songwriter Sam Duckworth (full name Samuel Lloyd Duckworth). He chose the name from an extract of a computer games magazine for the Batman computer game, and has been producing music since 2004.
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly' style of music is a mixture of acoustic and indie rock and since signing to major label Atlantic Records worked with other acoustic and music stars such as Kate Nash and Nitin Sawhney amongst others.
His first album The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager sold over 60,000 and was certified silver. It was voted one of the top albums of 2006 according to music magazines Q and NME.
Get Cape’s success from his debut album led to him performing at a number of festivals: Leeds Festival and Reading Festival as well as most musicians’ dream – Glastonbury (2007). He was also nominated by the NME for best solo artist (2007) although lost out to Jamie T in the end.
Get Cape’s second offering Searching for the Hows and Whys (2008) was produced with British-Indian music pioneer Nitin Sawhney and had some success with the single "Find The Time" (UK#33) which was released via MySpace as a freebie.
His third self-titled album was released 2010, and features drum n’ bass veteran Shy FX on the single “Collapsing Cities” on Cooking Vinyl.
