Girls Aloud
Girls Aloud probably come only second to the infamous Spice Girls. Celebrating 10 years in the music business in 2012, Girls Aloud have come a long way from their humble beginnings as contestants on British talent show, Popstars The Rivals. Girls Aloud are Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh.
Their first album "Sound of the Underground" (2003) proved highly successful and their pop sound and five totally contrasting styles and looks, made them an instant success in the charts and celebrities in their own right.
Working with top producers, Xenomania, Girls Aloud continued to churn out hit after hit. What Will the Neighbours Say? (2004) contained the smash hits "Jump", "The Show", "Love Machine", "I'll Stand by You" and "Wake Me Up" and catapulted the girl group into the big time.
Further success with their fourth effort, Chemistry (2005) and Tangled Up (2007) and a number of tours kept the girls constantly on the road.
Inevitably by 2009 the girls were moving in different directions and decided to take a yearlong break so they could pursue solo projects.
In March 2012, Girls Aloud said they would be reforming in 2013 for a 10th anniversary arena tour.
