Hot Chip
Hot Chip smashed onto the scene with their seminal album The Warning (2004) which got shortlisted two years later in the Mercury Prize Awards (2006) and voted by dance music magazine Mixmag as their album of the year.
The original line up of Hot Chip is Alexis Taylor (vocals, synthesizer, guitar, percussion, piano), Joe Goddard (vocals, synthesizer, percussion), Owen Clarke (guitar, bass, synthesizer, percussion), Al Doyle (guitar, backing vocals, synthesizer, percussion, bass, fugelhorn, steel pans and Felix Martin (drum machines, synthesizer, programming).
Producing music on underground electronic music label DFA at the beginning of their musical journey, taking over the world with their unique mix of synths, harmonies and dance beats, Hot Chip had massive success with their singles "Over and Over" in March 2006 and "Boy from School".
Next up came their third studio album Made in the Dark (2008) which was another success and their single "Ready For The Floor" reached #6 in the UK Single Chart and also received a Grammy nomination.
In 2009 Hot Chip decided to go in a different direction with their fourth offering and slowed the pace of their songs down with a more “grown up” sound. They introduced other drummers to the album and released the singles “I Feel Better" and "One Life Stand". The album reached #11 in the UK Album Chart and did well across Europe.
In Our Heads (June 2012), Hot Chip’s latest album on new label Domino; sees the album aim squarely for the underground dance scene. Influenced by Joe Goddard’s dance project (2Bears with Raf Rundell) and the combination of expert songwriters, equals a dance-floor smash hit.
