Jane’s Addiction are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album Nothing’s Shocking with two UK shows in both London and Manchester.
The rockers will perform at London’s O2 Brixton Academy on 20 August 2014 and the O2 Apollo Manchester on 21 April 2014 where they will play Nothing’s Shocking in its entirety.
Noting’s Shocking, released in 1988, includes the hits Mountain Song, Ocean Size and their Grammy-nominated track Jane Says.
About Jane’s Addiction
Perry Farrell, Eric Avery, Stephen Perkins, along with guitar-legend, Dave Navarro formed Jane’s Addiction in the mid 80’s and made their recording debut in 1988 with their debut album, Nothing’s Shocking.
The album went Platinum and paved the way for the band’s next step, the follow-up album, Ritual de lo Habitual. Ritual de lo Habitual became Jane’s Addiction’s most commercially successful album receiving two platinum certifications. It included the single Been Caught Stealing. The song has since become the tune mostly recognised with Jane’s Addiction sound.
Following touring commitments for Ritual de lo Habitual, Navarro and Avery left the band in 1991.
Over the course of the next decade, the members of Jane’s Addiction would get involved in various music projects. Some of the more successful ones were Perry Farrell’s side project, Porno For Pyros, while Dave Navarro famously joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers on guitar.
It took almost 15 years for the original Jane’s Addiction line-up to convene and perform together. The newly rebounded friendship sparked the albums Strays in 2003. Eight years later, Jane’s Addiction followed up the album with the long-awaited The Great Escape Artist.
The album was accompanied by a Jane’s Addiction concert in the UK, which took place at London’s Koko.
Jane’s Addiction return to the UK in 2014 for two special shows celebrating the final weeks of the 25th anniversary of their acclaimed album Nothing’s Shocking. The shows will take place in both Manchester and London during August.
