About Jessie J
She was tipped for success in 2011 and the predictions proved to be accurate. The singer-songwriter from London was named winner of the prestigious BBC Sound of 2011 award, scooped the Critics’ Choice Award at the BRITs and landed five nominations at the MOBO Awards in the categories Best Song, Best Album, Best Newcomer, Best Video and Best UK Act.
Jessie J’s infectious debut single, Do It Like A Dude, stormed into the UK charts at No.5 and the controversial video has clocked over 8 million views since the single’s launch in November 2010. The anticipated second single is often a hurdle for up-and-coming artists, but Jessie J’s Price Tag (featuring B.o.B.) matched the success of Do It Like A Dude. It claimed the chart’s pole position, giving Jessie J two Top 10 singles at the same time.
Jessie J’s second album, Alive, followed in 2013 while Sweet Talker was released the following year. Sweet Talker included the worldwide hit, Bang Bang. Jessie J collaborated with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj on the single, which topped the UK Singles Chart and was a Top 5 hit in the US.
