Jessie J
Jessie J (real name Jessie Cornish) was born 27th March 1988 and is from Essex.
Unbelievably the pop and R&B pop star is still under 25, and has already had a string of successful hits to her name: "Do It Like a Dude" and "Price Tag" amongst others.
With a number of high profile awards and nominations under her belt, the "Do It Like a Dude" singer has taken the UK by storm with her mix of pop and R&B medleys. Jessie J’ jet black precision wig and street-style sassiness has propelled her to the top of the UK Charts and made her a fashion icon for her millions of fans.
Suffering for serious heart problems, Jessie J sought solace through music. Not being able go partying or go crazy like people of her age, Jessie J relied on writing music and singing to express herself.
When she was younger, Jessie J auditioned for a part in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down The Wind and ended up with a two year contract.
Originally she was signed to Gut Records but the label went bust and she was whisked off to America in order to try and get another deal. Luckily for her she was offered several deals on the back of her showcase at the Viper Rooms and record executive LA Reid swopped her up in a flash and the next thing she knew, she was performing as support for Chris Brown on his European tour.
More good fortune was to follow with the release of her debut album Who You Are (February 2011) which featured the anthemic "Do It Like a Dude” as well as the number one smash hit “Domino”, "Nobody's Perfect", "Who You Are", "Price Tag" and (featuring B.o.B).
