Kiesza to play Manchester and London
Updated: 18 September 2014
Kiesza is set to play two shows this November in London and Manchester as part of a wider European tour.
The Canadian singer will head to the UK to perform at London’s Electric Brixton on 18 November and Manchester Academy 2 on 19 November.
The tour will follow on from the release of her debut album, Sound Of A Woman, which will be released on 21 October, and includes her hit track Hideaway.
Ahead of the release her debut album in October, Kiesza has already scored a UK No.1, written songs for the likes of Rihanna and earned four nominations at the 2014 MTV EMAs.
The Canadian singer-songwriter caught the attention of the music press in 2014 after the release of her single Hideaway. The track debuted at No.1 in the Official Singles Chart after Annie Mac premiered the song during her BBC Radio 1 segment.
However, Kiesza, whose real name is Kiesa Rae Ellestad, is not just a singer-songwriter but an established guitar and keyboard player.
In June 2014 she went on to release her second single Giant In My Heart – again, premiering on Annie Mac’s show. The track earned her a second Top 5 single stealing the No.4 position in the UK charts. She currently signed to the label Lokal Legend and is due to release Sound of a Woman, her first album, in October.
Along with her success as a solo artist, Kiesza is an established songwriter having previously written songs for Kylie Minogue and Rihanna. 2014 also saw her work with Skrillex and Diplo on Take You There, a track that will appear on the producers’ collaborative album, along with co-writing Go All Night, the song by Gorgon City.
