Kylie Minogue (full name Kylie Ann Minogue) was born 28th May 1968 in Melbourne, Australia. Her pop career has spanned over twenty years and has earned her an OBE in the process.
Notoriety came with her early appearances as Charlene Robinson in Neighbours. Worldwide fame came in 1987 when Kylie Minogue had a smash hit with the “Locomotion” which was number one in Australia and led onto her debut album Kylie which was released in 1988 and was number one in the UK.
Kylie Minogue has won a plethora of awards and has graced the covers of every fashion magazine over the years. She has become a style icon as well as a multi-Platinum award winning pop artist. Throughout the 1980’s Kylie Minogue’s fame grew dramatically. The albums Enjoy Yourself (1989) and Rhythm of Love (1990) proved to be irresistible hits worldwide and pop gems "Hand on Your Heart" and "Better the Devil You Know” led to Kylie releasing her Greatest Hits album in 1992.
In the early 1990’s Kylie Minogue signed to dance label at the time Deconstruction, and continued to have worldwide success. The album reached number four in the U.K. and all three singles released from the album became worldwide hits. Turning her hand to acting, Kyle Minogue appeared in the film version of the game Streetfighter in 1994. Moving in a slightly different direction in 1995, she performed a duet with acclaimed rock band musician Nick Cave and she released "Where the Wild Roses Grow" and then brought out Impossible Princess, which featured various collaborations.
Kylie Minogue tickets for her second tour Intimate and Live in 1991 were increased due to heavy demand. By 2000, Kylie Minogue had left Deconstruction and produced Light Years which proved to be the up-turn in her career at that point. Dance ensemble “Spinning Around” was a number one hit in the UK and put Kylie back on the road to stardom.
Her 2003 album Body Language and Ultimate Kylie (2004) followed with Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour. Tragically, during the tour Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer and was forced to abandon touring until November 2006 when she returned to the stage.
She went on to receive her OBE in 2007 and toured again in October 2009, appearing in the US and releasing her 11th studio album Aphrodite in the summer of 2010. This went in at number one in the UK Charts and included the hits, “All The Lovers”, “Get Outta My Way” & “Better Than Today”.
