Lady Gaga adds four extra UK shows to tour

Lady Gaga has extended the UK and Ireland leg of her Artrave: The Artpop Ball world tour into November with four additional shows in Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield and Newcastle.
Lady Gaga starts her UK and Ireland tour on 15 October at Birmingham’s NIA Arena. She will then head to Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester and London in October before performing in Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield and Newcastle during November.
The tour is support of her No.1 album, Artpop, which contains the tracks Venus, G.U.Y. and Applause.

Lady Gaga will bring her Artrave: The Artpop Ball World Tour to the UK and Ireland in October 2014.
Lady Gaga, who is known for her outlandish costumes and extravagant stage sets, will perform in Birmingham, Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester and London.
The Artrave: The Artpop Ball tour is in support of Lady Gaga’s fourth album Artpop, which reached the No.1 spot in the UK. The tour will reflect the album and is expected to be an explosion of art and pop in the flamboyant and outré manner that Lady Gaga is known for.
Lady Gaga tickets have been in high demand, since the initial tour announcement in February, which has resulted in additional dates to take place at London’s The O2.
About Lady Gaga
2008 saw Lady Gaga propelled into the limelight with her debut album The Fame. Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in New York she originally worked as a songwriter at Interscope Records before her talent was spotted by recording artist Akon. She was signed to Kon Live Distribution, Akon’s label under Interscope, and released The Fame.
The Fame carried the hits Just Dance, Poker Face, Paparazzi and Bad Romance. It sold over 15 million copies worldwide and catapulted Lady Gaga into a worldwide star.
Lady Gaga quickly became as talked about for her costumes and stage shows as she did for her music. She became well known for her outrageous and out there outfits including wearing a dress made out of meat at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
She followed up her first album with The Fame Monster in 2008, which according to Lady Gaga dealt with the darker side of being in the limelight. It included the notable singles Telephone, which featured Beyoncé, and Alejandro.
Lady Gaga proved that she had true staying power in 2011 with the release of her third album, Born This Way, which became iTunes fastest record to reach No.1. The album, like others before, contained a string of hits including Born This Way, Judas and the Edge of Glory. It showed Lady Gaga’s chameleon-like abilities – the video to Edge of Glory showed a stripped down version of Gaga while Born This Way showed the star in an extravagant costumes.
The same year Lady Gaga was named Forbes’ Most Powerful Woman in the World 2011. It followed similar accolades in 2010 where she was named Billboard’s 2010 Artist of the Year and was included in Time’s The 2010 Time 100 list. Along with industry recognition, Lady Gaga has built a huge, strong fan following that go by the name of Little Monsters.
Lady Gaga followed this success with her fourth album ArtPop. The album has the hits Applause and Do What U Want featuring R. Kelly. The album is said to replicate a night in a club where art meets pop. Lady Gaga starts her world tour in support of the album in May.
Along with her successful albums, Lady Gaga has undertaken three world tours. Her debut tour in 2009, The Fame Ball tour, was in support of her first album and demand saw her perform 70 dates across America, Europe, Oceania and Asia.
The tour was followed by The Monster Ball tour, which started in November 2009 and continued until 2011. She performed 201 shows in total.
In 2012 Lady Gaga started her Born This Way Ball tour to support her third album Born This Way. Lady Gaga topped her previous tours with the exceptional stage productions, including the use of mechanical horses, a meat couch and a birth scene during her performance of the single Born This Way, costumes from designers such as Versace and she visited every continent except Antarctica.
