Lana Del Rey arrived in 2011 with the release of the single Video Games. Her debut Born to Die spawned more best-selling singles with Summertime Sadness, Blue Jeans and the album's title-track Born to Die.
Lana Del Rey, born Lizzy Grant started her pop career playing jazz bars in New York and released her debut 'Lana Del Rey aka Lizzy Grant' in 2010. Released on an indie record label with little funding, the album flopped commercially but brought Lana Del Rey to the attention of her current management who spotted her talent and got her a lucrative major label contract.
The lead single Video Games was released as a shaky, cut-and-paste vintage-looking video clip on YouTube. The clip went vuiral and became an online senstaion. By the time her record label released the Born to Die album, Lana Del Rey was already established as both, pop star and modern-day pop culture myth.
More singles off Born to Die followed and subsequent but sparse live shows established Lana Del Rey as one of the most interesting and gifted songwriters of our time. Lana Del Rey has since modelled the Winter colelction for high-street faashion brand H&M for which she recorded a stunning cover of the classic tune Blue Velvet and the original tune and most current release Ride.
Ride is accompanied by a controversial 10 minute short film video showing the Born to Die star in the company of a motorcycle gang. Lana Del Rey remains the interesting popstar that keeps dividing opinions amongst the music fraternity. Her sold out concerts, chart success and growing legions of dedicated Lana Del Rey fans seem to be deafening her critics faster than lighting strikes.
Don't miss out on your Lana Del Rey tickets for her forthcoming concerts.
