Linkin Park release Living Things
Last updated: 20th June 2012
With the new album 'Living Things' out at the end of June, fans hope Linkin Park will hit the road for a tour. 'Living Things' is Linkin Park's fifth studio album and follow's 'A Thousand Suns' which was released in 2010.
Linkin Park emerged with their debut album Hybrid Theory in 2000. The debut went platinum and quickly gained popularity with the Nu-Metal scene that ruled the music scene in the early noughties.
In 2003 Linkin Park released Meteora, the band’s second studio album which claimed the top spots around the world and broke the band internationally, gaining Linkin Park many new fans outside the nu-metal scene.
The band toured heavily in support of Meteora and it took 4 years until the world would get the new Linkin Park album. Minutes To Midnight was released in 2007 and established Linkin Park as a global rock force. Repeating Meteora’s success, Minutes To Midnight went Number 1 around the world, with several platinum awards and a string of hit singles, such as Bleed It Out, What I’ve Done, Shadow Of The Day or Given Out. The Minutes to Midnight tour took the band once again around the globe, making it their biggest and most successful tour.
Following the Linkin Park tour for Minutes To Midnight, Linkin Park kept a relatively low profile, emerging only for the collaborative side-project, ‘Projekt Revolution,’ the release of Not Alone, Linkin Park’s song contribution to Music For Relief and Blackbirds, a new song the band released as part of their 8-Bit Rebellion! video game.
