Updated: 12 March 2015

The icon returns to the UK in December 2015 as part of her Rebel Heart world tour.

The queen of pop is back on the road this year in support of her thirteenth studio album, Rebel Heart. Madonna’s tour will visit North America and Europe with the UK leg of the 2015 tour scheduled for December 2015.

Madonna will play four shows in the UK starting at London’s The O2 arena on 1 December. Continuing her Rebel Heart tour, Madonna will perform at the Manchester Arena on 14 December and Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena on 16 December before the tour ends at Glasgow’s the SSE Hydro on 20 December.

Madonna’s tour is in support of Rebel Heart, which features the lead track Living For Love. The superstar worked with some of the biggest names in music to produce the album including Kanye West, Avicii and Diplo.

About Madonna

Madonna is one of, if not the most, famous women in pop music. From Madonna’s beginning of her musical career she has been an icon who has constantly pushed her musical boundaries by changing her image and music styles.

She was born in Michigan, real name Louise Ciccone, but moved to New York City to pursue a career in dancing. Madonna went on to join the bands, the Breakfast Club and Emmy, and in 1982 she landed the lucrative recording contract that launched Madonna’s stellar career.

Madonna’s early albums

Madonna’s debut album was released in 1983 and gave us the hit singles Lucky Star, Borderline and Holiday. Madonna’s music and style was greatly received. Her look was one of the main female styles of the ‘80s and soon copied by girls all over the globe.

Her second offering gave her global success. Like A Virgin became a No.1 album and would later be listed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s ‘Definitive 200 albums of all time’ in 2008. Making a name for her boundary-pushing live performances, Madonna performed Live A Virgin at the MTV Music Awards that saw her jumping out of a cake in a wedding dress. She was blasted for it but at the same time the performance went down in MTV history as one of their most iconic performances of all time.

1986 saw the release of her third album True Blue. It was followed by the hugely successful album Like A Prayer. By the end of the 1980s Madonna had become the most successful, influential and often controversial female star of the decade.

Madonna in the ‘90s and ‘00s

The Immaculate Collection, Madonna’s first greatest hits album, was released in 1990 and went on to become the bestselling best-of compilation album of all time.

The birth of her daughter Lourdes in 1996 saw Madonna changing from the controversial material girl starlet of the ‘80s to a woman and mother who was finding solace in a spiritual lifestyle practicing Kabbalah.

This change of lifestyle was reflected in Madonna’s music and live performances. Madonna live was different to her previous stage antics and 2001’s The Drowned World tour became one of the highest grossing tours of year.

Ray of Light earned Madonna four more Grammy Awards, which added to her already extensive collection of awards. Fans and critics agreed that Madonna was definitely back to her best.

Madonna the actor

Madonna tiptoed in acting, making her mainstream film debut in 1985’s box office hit Desperately Seeking Susan, which also featured Madonna’s song Into The Groove. The track became another Madonna hit. The sensation went on to star in the ‘80s teen flick Who’s That Girl and Evita, her biggest acting role, where she starred as Argentina’s Eva Peron.

Madonna on tour

As one of the most prolific recording artists of our time, a Madonna tour is not to be missed. Year after year the star returned with a bigger and better production, which proved why Madonna tickets are constantly in such high demand.

Some of Madonna’s most notable tours included her 2008/20009 Sticky & Sweet tour, which became the highest grossing tour of all time. In 2012 Madonna embarks on the MDMA tour. Again, fans were hungry for Madonna tickets and the tour was the most successful tour of 2012.

Rebel Heart and 2015 tour

2015 saw the release of Madonna’s thirteenth studio album, Rebel Heart. The collection was released in March 2015 but Madonna suffered a number of setbacks before the release. While in the processing of producing and finalising the album a number of demo tracks were leaked on the internet, including two in November and thirteen in December.

Rebel Heart was then available via pre-order from 20 December. Fans that purchased the album were treated to five tracks from the collection. Along with the album, Madonna released the lead single Living for Love. She had worked with American producer Diplo on the on track.

Despite the early release, demo leaks continued for Madonna. The album was officially released on March 9 in the UK. It prompted Madonna to say “So we took the road less travelled by........... #rebelhearts thank you to all the amazing people that made this record possible.” on her official Instagram account.

In support of Rebel Heart, Madonna confirmed she would tour the UK in December 2015 playing just four dates in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. As one of music’s biggest stars, Madonna tickets are expected to be in high demand.
