Maroon 5 UK tour
Updated: 2 August 2014

Maroon 5 have returned with a brand new album and UK arena tour for summer 2015.

The five-piece will kick off their UK dates in London playing Wembley’s SSE Arena on 26 May 2015. Maroon 5’s tour will continue with a show at Birmingham’s LG Arena on 31 May before ending at Manchester’s LG Arena on 1 June 2015.

Maroon 5’s tour is in support of their fifth studio album, V, which is the follow-up to 2012’s Overexposed.

The Adam Levine fronted band, which includes guitarist James Valentine, bassist Mickey Madden, drummer Matt Flynn and keyboardist PJ Morton, have enjoyed a number of hits including Moves Like Jagger, Makes Me Wonder and Misery.

About Maroon 5

Maroon 5 first formed as 4-piece under the name Kara’s Flowers in 1994. Fronted by Adam Levine, Kara’s Flowers based their name on a girl the band members had a ‘collective crush on.’

Kara’s Flowers recorded one album but their first attempt was unsuccessful. It forced the band to rethink. They eventually changed their musical direction and name to Maroon 5.

Maroon 5’s debut, Songs About Jane was released in 2002 and saw the band opting for a straighter pop/rock sound which enjoyed great success with songs such as This Love and She Will Be Loved.

Touring their Songs About Jane album and writing new material delayed the follow-up for five years. However, when Soon Before Long was finally released in 2007 the album mirrored the success of its predecessor. This time the band had taken inspiration from 80’s artists such as Prince, Michael Jackson and Talking Heads.

Maroon 5's third album, Hands All Over, was released in 2010. It was recorded by the band in Switzerland and features the single Misery. Hands All Over saw Maroon 5 enter into a more pop focused direction. Their release found many new fans, pushing the album to No.2 in the US Billboard Albums Chart in its first week of going on sale and subsequently received multi-platinum certifications.

Following the band's busy touring schedule for Hands All Over, Maroon 5 returned to the studio to work on their next album. The result was the 12-track Overexposed. Overexposed, the band's fourth studio album saw the light of day in June 2012.

The album shot to No.2 on the UK Albums Chart and includes the band’s huge hit Moves Like Jagger and their first UK No.1 single, Payphone. The latter saw Maroon 5 team up with American rapper Wiz Khalifa.
