McFly's most recent effort is the “Above The Noise” album. The album, the follow-up to 2008’s top-selling “Radio:Active” took 2 years to make and is accompanied by the short movie, “Nowhere Left To Run.”
McFly formed in 2003 and got signed to Island Records were they recorded and released their debut album. McFly’s big push promoting their debut “Room On The 3rd Floor” came after being invited to perform for fellow pop-punks, Busted as opening act on their 2004 tour. The word spread quick and the album scooped double Platinum certification.
The band quickly released “Wonderland” as the debut’s successor in 2005. The album went Platinum with 4 songs being lifted of the album as singles; “All About You,” “I’ll Be OK,” “I Wanna Hold You” and “Ultraviolet / Ballad Of Paul K.”
During this period McFly toured the world and performed various promo concerts and yet the managed to get another new studio album out the following year. 2006’s “Radio:Active” was given away for free in the UK with copies of the Mail On Sunday newspaper. “Radio:Active” is released on the band’s own Super Records and remains the only McFly album not brought out by Island.
Extensive touring, songwriting and recording delayed 2010’s “Above The Noise.” The album sees McFly return to their former home of Island Records. Produced by Dallas Austin, Alan Nglish, Jason Perry, Adam Noble and Taio Cruz, “Above The Noise” features the single “Party Girl,” the album’s standout track with a distinctive dance-influenced beat.
The DVD “Nowhere Left To Run” accompanies the album, “Above The Noise.” The short movie, featuring all McFly band members, Tom Fletcher, Harry Judd, Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter as themselves is set in a Vampired-themed storyline and features a selection of tracks of “Above The Noise.”
