Of Monsters and Men are winners of Iceland’s 2010 Battle of the Bands competition. Media and fans were quick in calling the 6-piece “The new Arcade Fire” and stylistically Of Mice and Men’s songs have the neo-folk sound down pretty well. Fans of Arcade Fire, Mumford & Sons and also of Iceland’s very own indie legends, The Sugercubes should take a listen to Of Mice and Men’s magnificently twee sounding single “Dirty Paws” off their excellent studio debut “My Head is an Animal.”

Of Mice and Men formed in 2009 and are Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir (vocals), Ragnar “Raggi” Þórhallsson (guitar), Brynjar Leifsson (guitar), Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson (drums), Árni Guðjónsson (piano & accordion), and Kristján Páll Kristjánsson (bass).
