Pete Shop Boys have announced a second Glasgow date on their Electric world tour. The gig will take place on 3 September at Sage Gateshead, ahead of their show on 5 September at the same venue.
The Pet Shop Boys tour is in support of their 2013 release, Electric. The duo, who formed in the early 80s, have an extensive back catalogue of hits that include It’s Sin, West End Girls, Liberation, and Being Boring.

Pet Shop Boys have announced a show at Glasgow’s SECC Clyde Auditorium that will take place on 5 September 2014.
The shows follow on from their Electric tour dates in the summer. The Pet Shop Boys released their last album Electric in July 2013.

Pet Shop Boys formed in 1981 in London and comprises vocalist Neil Tennat and keyboardist Chris Lowe. They soon became one of the most successful duos pup duos in the UK.
Over the years they’ve bagged 12 Top Ten albums, 40 Top 20 Singles and several Ivor Novello awards and BRIT Awards.
Pet Shop Boys have had four No.1 hits, which includes their first single West End Girls, It’s A Sin, Always On My Mind and Heart.
Along with their extensive music catalogue, Pet Shop Boys have collaborated with an array of successful artists including Elton John, David Bowie, Madonna and Dusty Springfield to name but a few. Pet Shop Boys have also written songs for several artists.
As well as their music, Pet Shop Boys are known for their innovative stage productions and have collaborated with directors, architects and theatre designers for previous tours.
Pet Shop Boys released their latest studio album, Electric, in July 2013. The album was produced by Stuart Price and was recorded in London, Berlin and Los Angeles. In support of the album Pet Shop Boys played two successful arena shows in London and Manchester.
Along with several American and European festival appearances in 2014, Pet Shop Boys have four Electric tour dates in the UK in May and June.
For the Electric tour, Pet Shop Boys worked with award-winning creative director and set-designer Es Devlin (His credits include working with Take That, Lady GAGA and the 2012 Olympics’ Closing Ceremony) and Tony award-nominated stage director and choreographer Lynne Page.
