The tour follows Rihanna's one-off Wireless Festival concert at London's Hyde Park in June 2012. The last time the Barbadian R&B superstar completed a full-lenght UK stint was her massive 2011 Loud Tour. The tour followed in the success of Rihanna's global hit "What's My Name" and established her as one of the most successful Pop and R&B acts of our times.
The Rihanna Diamonds Tour 2013 gives Rihanna fans a chance to hear tracks of the R&B star’s most recent album, “Loud,” such as the dancefloor killer “Only Girl (In The World)” the infectious hands-in-the-air sing-a-long of “California King Bed” or the chart topping pop “What’s My Name? (Featuring Drake).” Also look forward see Rihanna perform a selection of her classics and live favourites; “Te Amo,” “Rude Boy” or “Unfaithful” just to name but a few.
Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barnados but launched her pop career after moving to the US and signing with influential Def Jam Records. She released her debut, “Music of the Sun” in 2005 and with the help of her hit single, “Pon de Replay” the album hit the US Billboard 200.
“A Girl Like Me” followed in 2006 and included Rihanna’s first Number 1 single with “SOS.” With the release of 2007’s “Good Girl Gone Bad” Rihanna had finally established herself as a first league R&B recording artist with collaborations with Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, Timbaland or Justin Timberlake.
“Rated R” hit the music shops in November 2009 and spawned several chart storming hit singles, such as “Russian Roulette,” “Hard (featuring Jeezy)’” “Rude Boy,” “Rockstar 101 (featuring ex-Guns n’ Roses guitar slinger, Slash)” and “Te Amo.”
Rihanna released the multi-Platinum album "Loud" in 2010. "Loud" included the singles, “Only Girl (In The World)” and the global chart hit, “What’s My Name? (featuring Drake)”. "Talk That Talk" followed at the end of 2011 and matched the success of its predecessor in terms of sales. In the US Rihanna sold over a million copies of "Talk That That" making the album another multi-Platinum certified chart breaker for Rihanna.
Rihanna has now returned with "Unapologetic". The new 14-track album, released on November 19th, 2012 features collaborations with David Guetta, Chris Brown and Eminem. The album's lead single is "Diamonds" and has given the name for Rihanna's forthcoming world tour. The Diamonds Tour 2013 is taking the Pop queen acros sthe globe with a series of huge stadiuma nd arena shows in the UK in summer 2013.
