Rihanna
Rihanna (full name Robyn Rihanna Fenty) was born 20th February 1988. She is originally of Bajan descent, but moved to the United States to pursue a full-time recording career.
Her music, a rich tapestry of pop, R&B, dance and reggae has made her a worldwide success. Rihanna has received a number of awards throughout her career, with smash hits “Only Girl (In The World),” a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Run This Town" and a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Umbrella" plus BRIT Award wins in the 2007 World Music Awards for World's Best-Selling Pop Female Artist and Female Entertainer of the Year, and the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Female Solo Artist.
After signing to Def Jam’s label in 2005, Rihanna first had success with her first single "Pon de Replay", this reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. Her first album Music of the Sun was received well, reaching the top ten of the Billboard 200 Chart. A Girl Like Me, (her follow up album), propelled Rhianna into superstardom with the album peaking at number five in the Billboard 200 Chart. This led onto her first worldwide performances, Rihanna: Live in Concert Tour in 2006.
Rihanna’s third album Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) includes the hits “Umbrella”, "Shut Up and Drive", "Don't Stop The Music" and "Hate That I Love You”. This led onto her Good Girl Gone Bad Tour in 2007 with Rihanna tickets proving popular across the continent.
In the summer of 2010, Rihanna went onto collaborate with hip-hop star Eminem in the hit "Love the Way You Lie" which reached number one in the Billboard Hot 100 and she then released her fourth album Loud in November 2010. On 23rd September 2011, she released the dance sensation “We Found Love” featuring Scottish pop/dance virtuoso Calvin Harris.
