The rock legend started his career with Jimmy Powell and The Five Dimensions, before joining the Hoochie Coochie Men. The spiky-haired rocker with his unique, raspy soul voice then briefly played with The Soul Agents and Shotgun Express. But it wasn’t until Rod Stewart hooked up with The Jeff Beck Group and soon after as mod-rocker with The Faces when his career really got the lift-off.
His debut solo album, “Every Picture Tells A Story” was released in 1971 and along with its lead single “Reason to Believe,” and in particular it’s flipside, “Maggie May” turned Rod Stewart from famous rockstar into a music legend. Rod Stewart continued with The Faces until the mid 1970’s before fully concentrating on his solo career.
Over the course of the following 35 years, Rod Stewart sold in excess of 100 million records, was awarded a CBE by the Queen and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. This is your chance to see the music legend that soul god James Brown once described as the “best white soul singer” in the world.
