Hear Sade’s massive global hits, such “Smooth Operator” and “Love Is Stronger Than Pride” off their 1983 debut, “Diamond Life.”
2010’s “Soldier Of Love” is Sade’s 6th studio album and the follow-up to 2000’s “Lovers Rock.” Sade were formed in 1983 by Sade Adu, Stuart Matthewman, Paul Spencer Denman, Andrew Hale and Paul Spencer Denman, who left the group before the release of their debut album. “Diamond Life” shot straight to the top spots of the album charts around the globe and was certified multi-Platinum.
Second album, 1985’s “Promise” followed the band’s appearance at Live Aid concert at London’s Wembley Stadium and produced the hit singles "The Sweetest Taboo" and "Never as Good as the First Time."
1988’s “Stronger Than Pride” album with the single “Love Is Stronger Than Pride” and 1992’s “Love Deluxe” albums followed before the band went into hiatus until the release of “Lovers Rock” in 2000. “Lovers Rock” received triple Platinum certification and earned Sade the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
It took the band another decade to write and release 2010’s “Soldier Of Love” album. But it seems it was worth the wait. “Soldier Of Love” shot straight to the UK and US album charts, selling in excess of 500.000 copies in its first week in the US alone, giving Sade their first #1 album and is setting the band up for a long-overdue live tour. The 2011 Sade tour will be the first time in 10 years that the influencial band is playimg their very own amalgam of Jazz, R&B, Sould and Pop live.
