Scissor Sisters tour UK in OctoberLast Up-Dated: 25th May 2012Following their sold-out comeback London concerts earlier in May, the fabulous Scissor Sisters return with a full UK tour in October in support of the new album "Magic Hour."October 2012Portsmouth, Guildhall (15 October 2012)Leeds, O2 Academy (16 October 2012)Glasgow, Barrowlands (19 October 2012)Manchester, Apollo (20 October 2012)Bristol, Colston Hall (22 October 2012)London, The Roundhouse (23 October 2012)The new album is the follow-up to 2010's "Night Work." The band came to prominence with self-titled debut in 2003. The album inlcuded a collection of chart-storming dance floor killer tunes, such as "Laura," "Mary," "Take Your Mama" and the outstanding Pink Floyd cover of "Comfortably Numb." Their androgynous outfits and energetic live shows fitted with the burgoning Electroclash scene that was raging in the clubs at the time and helped the band to establish a starong fanbase early on. Mainstream success arrived soon after and with 3,300,000 sold albums the Scissor Sisters had truely arrived. Riding high on the success of the debut and subsequent sold-out world tour, the New York-based band delivered "Ta-Dah" in 2006. "I don't Feel Like Dancing" was the album's big single and the track "Paul McCartney" off "Ta-Dah" occupied DJ sets at every clubnight. Touring and recording commitments lead to various band members suffer exhaustion. In particular, lead singer Jake Shearer felt the pressure. Album number three was delayed several times and various versions were scarpped. Jake Shearer relocated briefly to Berlin to find inspiration and Germany's capital and its famous night life culture helped in realising "Night Work," the 2010 Scissor Sister album.
