About Seasick Steve
Seasick Steve has been around a bit. During the Summer of Love in the late 1960's, he hung out with the likes of Janis Joplin and Joni Mitchell. During the reign of grunge in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, Seasick Steve counted Nirvana's Kurt Cobain as a friend and drew responsible for production and engineering duties for Modest Mouse.
Living all over the world, and making a living from busking and the odd recording studio job, Seasick Steve said about his time before becoming a global music phenomenon, "Hobos are people who move around looking for work, tramps are people who move around but don't look for work, and bums are people who don't move and don't work. I've been all three."
It wasn't until the bearded bluesman with his trademark denim dungarees and custom-made acoustic guitars was discovered by an old pal. The friend put him on the London radio station, Resonance FM. Later, he appeared on Jools Holland and that kick-stared his meteoric rise.
Seasick Steve released his debut solo studio album, Dog House Music, in 2006. Seasick Steve will release his latest album, Sonic Soul Surfer, in March 2015.
