The Smoke Fairies fairy tale began when the pair met at school in Sussex. The pair travelled to New Orleans and soaked up Blues music and returned to the UK and worked at Sidmouth Folk Week Festival, where they realised that folk and blues music would be their dream.

They toured with Bryan Ferry in 2007, and more recently, with ex-White Stripes front man Jack White on his tour.
