Snow Patrol Short Biography
Snow Patrol formed in 1994 and made their recording debut 4 years later with “Songs For Polarbears.” The band released a couple of indie singles, such as “Starfighter Pilots” but failed to break into the mainstream and their label subsequently dropped the band.
Snow patrol’s fortune would change with the 2003 release, “Final Straw.” Now signed to Fiction and Interscope Records, the band found a new lease of life.
With newly recruited guitarist, Nathan Connolly in the band, Snow Patrol’s next chapter would see the band gain global success and recognition.
Singles “Chocolate” and “Spitting Games” pushed the album “Final Straw” into the top of the album charts and awarded Snow Patrol their first multi-Platinum certified record. “
Eyes Open” followed in 2006 and established the Irish indie-popper amongst the leading guitar bands of the decade and topping several music polls. The single “Chasing Cars” climbed the charts and scooped 3x Platinum.
In 2009 Snow Patrol released “A Hundred Million Suns” to mixed reviews, but fans of the band seemed to like Snow Patrol’s new sound and pushed sales of “A Hundred Million Suns” to equal the band’s previous two albums.
With the new album “Fallen Empires” and new single, “Called Out In The Dark,” Snow Patrol open a new chapter in the band’s career. See the band perform a selection of songs off their latest album and their previous efforts.
