Steel Panther is a heavy metal band from L.A, Unites States of America. The band comprise of Michael Starr (vocals), Satchel (guitar), Lexxi Foxxx (bass) and Stix Zadinia (drums). They have made music under various guises such as “Danger Kitty”, “Metal Shop” and “Metal Skool” before they finally settled with Steel Panther.
The band rose to fame through shows on the Sunset Strip (in LA), and brought out their first album (as Metal Shop/Metal Skool) called Hole Patrol (2003). During the 2000s, Steel Panther gradually became well known when they appeared in a major American credit card advert, and then later, their music was used in the MTV program Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, a reality TV program following the life of professional skateboarder and multi-talented personality Rob Dyrdek.
In 2009, Steel Panther brought out their first album (as Steel Panther) Feel the Steel which reached #52 in the UK Album Chart and #98 in the US Album Chart. With the release of their third studio album Balls Out (2011), the album performed much better (#12 in the US Album Chart and #37 respectively), which resulted in Steel Panther being invited to go on tour with Def Leppard and co-headliners Mötley Crüe for their 2011 Mirrorball Tour. In December 2011 Steel Panther announced their Balls Out tour.
The band was also due to play with Van Halen at the Soundwave Revolution festival in May 2011, however; the event was cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
