The Black Keys UK tour
Updated: 15 July 2014

The Black Keys bring their Turn Blue world tour to the UK in 2015. The rock duo will play five arena dates across the UK in February and March 2015.

The UK leg of The Black Keys tour will include performances in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, London and Leeds.

About The Black Keys

The Black Keys are Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach. Formed in 2001, the duo quickly established themselves as a firm part of the emerging alternative scene in their hometown of Akron, Ohio.

Following their earlier indie releases, The Big Come Up (2002) and Thickfreakness (2003), the band gained a wider following with their third album Rubber Factory as well as licensing songs for commercials and video games.

The band also gained respect from peers, such as Radiohead, Sleater-Kinney and Pearl Jam, who all invited The Black Keys to open for them at their concerts.

2006 brought with it the band’s fourth album, Magic Potion, while this was followed in 2008 with Attack & Release.

Their sixth studio album, Brothers (2010), brought the band their biggest critical and commercial success winning two out of four Grammy nominations in 2011. The Black Keys took home the award for Best Alternative Music Album and, proving they can perform songs as well as write them, the Best Rock Performance award.

Since 2011 the duo have been a regular at the Grammys winning a further four awards. The Black Keys released the follow up to Brothers in 2011 which came in the form of El Camino.

Recorded in Nashville, the blues-rock album was written and co-produced by The Black Keys and Danger Mouse and includes influenced from the life of The Clash, T. Rex and Sweet.

Turn Blue is the eighth studio album from The Black Keys, which was released in May 2014. It is the fourth album the band has collaborated on with Danger Mouse, who co-produced the record, and sees a turn in direction for the band. Straying away from their earlier blues-rock sound the album shows influences from soul and psychedelic rock.
