Formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1988, The Smashing Pumpkins first broke into the musical mainstream with the big MTV hit, "Today," followed by a string of critically acclaimed albums, such as "Siamese Dream" and the ambitious, multi Platinum certified "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness."
The latter spawned no less than five hit singles; "Bullet with Butterfly Wings," "1979," "Zero," "Tonight Tonight" and "Thirty Three."
The success established The Smashing Pumpkins quickly as leaders of 90s Grunge, re-defining guitar music.
One of the most iconic bands of the 90s, The Smashing Pumpkins are set to make a triumphant return to the stage with the UK leg of their ‘Other side of the Kaleidyscope’ tour this November. To coincide with the release of the bands ninth album "Oceania," part of the ongoing concept album "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope;" this UK tour is said to be a series of sell out gigs not to be missed.
Jeff Schroeder, drummer Mike Byrne and bassist/vocalist Nicole Fiorentino solidify the new lineup, with frontman Billy Corgan claiming that this tour plans to showcase an "amusement park of fuzz and blurry colors" all over again.
