The Temper Trap
Melbourne indie rock band The Temper Trap, Dougy Mandagi (vocals, guitar), Lorenzo Sillitto (guitar), Jonny Aherne (bass) and Toby Dundas (drums) stormed the charts with their smash hit single “Sweet Disposition” which was released in 2008.
The band originally signed to Liberation Music in 2006 and built up their fan-base by performing across Australia which included the Australian V Festival.
The Temper Trap relocated to London in 2008 and brought out their multi-award winning album Conditions (2009) which reached the top 30 on the UK Album Chart and the single “Sweet Disposition” peaked at #10 across UK, Ireland and Belgium.
In summer 2009, The Temper Trap gained notoriety when they toured the UK festival circuit and performed at Reading and Leeds Festival, as well as embarking on their first UK tour. The band was due to perform at sold-out shows in Germany but cancelled them to perform at Australia’s prestigious music awards: The ARIAs, where they went on to be nominated in four categories, although failed to scoop any awards in the end.
The Temper Trap went on to have further success with several more performances in 2010 at Glastonbury, V Festival (UK) and Oz festivals Big Day Out and Splendour In The Grass, amongst others, and a year later went on to receive two ARIAs 'Best Group' for their album Conditions and 'Most Popular Australian Single' for "Sweet Disposition".
In 2010 The Temper Trap were nominated for a BRIT Award in the 'Best International Breakthrough Artist' category, but did not win the award and began working on their next album.
The Temper Trap’s second eponymous album was released in May 2012 and contained the singles "Need Your Love" and "Trembling Hands", although the album received mixed reactions from various music critics.
The band toured throughout North America with sold-out shows, and in June 2012 released the music video for Trembling Hands online which featured Dougy Mandagi, the only band member in the video.
