Train
Train is an American band from San Francisco, USA.
Compromised of Patrick Monahan (vocals), Jimmy Stafford (guitar, vocals) and Scott Underwood (drums, percussion), the trio first released their self-titled album in 1998 and they had a hit with their single “Meet Virginia” and they followed this up with their second album “Drops of Jupiter” which was a massive success in the US and also gained them two Grammy Awards: Best Rock Song and Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) (2002).
A year later, Train produced their third studio album My Private Nation which reached platinum status; although by this time original members Rob Hotchkiss and Charlie Colin left the band and a fourth album flopped, leading to a 3 year hiatus.
In 2009 Train returned with a bang and had major success with their fifth studio album Save Me, San Francisco and spawned the single "Hey, Soul Sister" which was massive in Australia and the album peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Their third single “Marry Me” was featured in the hit American TV series One Tree Hill and reached #34 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2012 Train teamed up with worldwide pop star Shakira on her The Sun Comes Out World Tour.
After completing their sixth studio album California 37 (2012), Train released the single “Drive By” which has since been certified platinum and the band embarked on a massive US tour.
