There are not many people who can be unfamiliar with Irish boyband, Westlife. Selling over 44 million records isn’t bad for a band which has lasted the test of time, even with their imminent departure on the horizon.
For over 10 years, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, and Brian McFadden (left the band in 2004) ruled the charts with countless hits such as “Swear It Again”, “If I Let You Go” “Flying Without Wings” “Fool Again” and more.
Westlife have had 12 successive top 10 albums and a hectic tour schedule which has seen them tour the world and let them earn millions as well as gaining them a huge number of accolades over the years, making them the sixth biggest boyband’s of all time.
Westlife released their 11th studio, Gravity (2010) which moved away from their cover albums and formulaic pop songs which had made them world famous. Gravity is derived from life events which the guys had been through and focused on a mature and personal reflection.
In 2011, the group released the album Greatest Hits and announced they were splitting up after their Greatest Hits Tour taking place in 2012.
