About Wales Rugby
Although rugby was founded in England in 1823, many dismiss this as a mere technicality and insist the Wales is the true home of Rugby.
The Welsh rugby team is nicknamed “The Red Dragons”, and the impressive history of the Welsh rugby team goes a long way to demonstrating this. The Welsh rugby team played its first competitive international match in 1881, entering the Home Countries tournament, now named the RBS Six Nations. The RBS Six Nations matches see Wales face England, Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy.
