Taking place this year at London’s Palladium Theatre, the venue where the Royal Variety Performance was first held in 1912, the variety gala is presented by the award-winning British comedian Michael McIntyre. Michael McIntyre joins an elite group of Royal Variety Performance comperes that has included Bruce Forsyth amongst others.

Since 2005 the Royal Variety Performance features the winner of the year’s Britain’s Got Talent and this year acrobatic dance troupe Spelbound are set to perform in front of a sold-out auditorium that has seen many legendary performances, such John Lennon’s infamous address to the audience during a performance by The Beatles for the Royal Variety Performance where he asked, "for our last number I'd like to ask your help: Will the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands? And the rest of you, if you'll just rattle your jewellery."
