The world’s greatest tennis players will descend on Wimbledon this summer to compete for the prestigious Grand Slam title.

2016 Wimbledon tickets will get you into the heart of the action for what is the oldest and often referred to as the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world. The 2016 Wimbledon Championships take place from 27 June to 10 July.

The fortnight is set to be jam-packed with the world’s best tennis. S16 will be alive with the bustling of fans, tennis stars and famous revellers for two weeks this summer – expect Murray Mount to be going crazy for Andy Murray while the competitors will be fighting for a chance to play on the impressive Centre Court.

Wimbledon is a taste of the British summer - world-class tennis, strawberries and cream, champagne and pimms - matched with an atmosphere that is rivalled to none. Wimbledon tickets mean you can experience an event unlike any other.

Tension will heat up as the tournament advances into its second week, reaching its climax on the Centre Court for the Women’s Singles Final and Men’s Singles Final. The finals are held during the last weekend of the tournament on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Wimbledon Championship – The oldest Grand Slam

It’s often referred to as the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world with Royal patronage, a dress code for competitors and revellers enjoying champs and strawberries.

Wimbledon – the oldest of the four Grand Slams (Majors), the others being the US Open, Australian Open and French Open – is the only Major which is still played on a grass surface. It attracts fans from across the globe, all hoping for a Wimbledon ticket, to see the world’s best in action.

The tournament originated in 1877 at London’s All England Club. The competition started with just the Gentleman’s Singles event. Today there are five main events: Gentleman’s Singles, Ladies’ Singles, Gentlemen’s Doubles, Ladies Doubles and Mixed Doubles. The Wimbledon Championships also includes a number of junior events and invitation events.

2013 saw Andy Murray defeat Novak Djokovic to become the first British Wimbledon winner in 77 years following in the footsteps of Fred Perry. The British champ was unable to defend his title the following year.
