Named after two-times world champion Ricardo Tormo, the 2.5 miles paved circuit near Valencia airport was opened in 1999. Each year the big prize in motorcycling is offered in the Gran Premio Valenciana, around this paved, 14-turn course. The Circuito de la Comunitat Valenciana was completed in 1999 and held rounds of the MotoGP and Spanish Motorcycle Championships in the same year. The Cheste track has several layouts, running anticlockwise with varying lengths.
